Database & Genus^® Meta-data

Genus supports all major RDBMS vendors (Oracle®, Microsoft® SQL Server, Sybase® and others) running on any platform supported by ADO.NET, ADO, or ODBC (e.g. Windows®, Linux®, UNIX®). Based on performance or data management requirements data may be stored across multiple databases.

Genus supports all kinds of explicit relational data structures, and you are free to choose any such structure for your business data. In other words, Genus stores both your data and the meta-data in an explicit form that can be accessed by other SQL based tools and applications. Based on meta-data, data access is automatically optimized with regards to locking policy and concurrency performance.

Genus Logix is based on descriptive data about the structure and behavior of your business objects (meta-data). This collection of meta-data is stored in your database as the Genus® Meta-data (XML) and is the only element that is specific for a customer using the Genus technology. By using the Genus technology your Genus Logix is alive from the first moment you start describing the necessary meta-data! In other words, the Genus technology truly supports scenario and evolutionary driven capture of critical functionality.
